WHERE CAN WE FIND OUT ALL ABOUT JESUS?
You search the Scriptures, for you think in them you
have everlasting life. And they are the ones witnessing
concerning Me. John 5:39 LITV. Luke 24:44
Burial day and
time
Modern application of the timing
of the death (Good Friday) of
Jesus and His Resurrection
(Easter Sunday)
The death of Jesus is celebrated under the name
Good Friday on Friday by the Christians who follow
the lead of Catholicism and His resurrection is
celebrated on the following Sunday which the
majority of Christians call ‘the Lord’s day’ because
Jesus is believed to have resurrected on Sunday. We
have to pause for now to consider the making of
Sunday as ‘the day of the Lord’, long after Jesus and
the Apostles were dead.
GOOD FRIDAY
How was it decided that Friday was the day when
Jesus was crucified? I do not know but I suspect it
has to do with the wording of the timing of the
narrative of the events that lead to the Crucifixion.
Let us read:
Now when evening had come, there came a
rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who
himself had also become a disciple of Jesus.
(58) This man went to Pilate and asked for the
body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the
body to be given to him. Matthew 27:57-58
EMTV
This man went to Pilate and asked for the body
of Jesus. (53) And having taken it down, he
wrapped it in a linen cloth, and put it in a tomb
cut out of rock, where no one had ever lain
before. (54) That day was the Preparation; the
Sabbath was drawing near. Luke 23:52-54 EMTV
Well, you have just read the day on which the body
of Jesus was taken down. The time was ‘in the
evening’ which starts the 15
th
. It was a day of
Preparation when ‘the Sabbath of the 15
th
was
drawing near’.
Now, any layman without a thorough knowledge of
the Scriptures knows the day which precedes the
Israelite Sabbath day. The day that precedes the
Sabbath day is Friday. Therefore, in black and white,
the Bible herself hints to to the layman that Friday
was the day of Crucifixion. However, the purported
resurrection day should bring to the attention of the
layman that there is some kind of discrepancy if
Jesus was rises on a Sunday. We assume that the
layman cares to pay attention to the exact wording
of the Bible as Jesus showed (Matthew 22:41-46). To
reconcile the discrepancy, there are other facts in
the Bible that, had you been aware of them, they
definitely would make you challenge the modern
apostate conclusion from Luke23:54 that the
Crucifixion occurs on a Friday and the resurrection
on a Sunday.
The first challenge to the assignment of the death of
Jesus on Friday comes from the fact that the word
Sabbath does not refer only to the Saturday Sabbath
day because the Torah (the Law) speaks of other
days called also Sabbaths. The second challenge is
mounted by the unequivocal declaration of Jesus
that invokes the length of the experience of the
Prophet Jonah inside the belly of the fish as the
ultimate of His claim to Messiahship in Matthew
12:40.
For even as Jonas was in the belly of the great
fish three days and three nights, thus shall the
Son of man be in the heart of the earth three
days and three nights. Matthew 12:40 Darby
Can any resurrection day replace the day of holy
convocation established in Moses? Not under the
watch of Jesus, as He signified it in Matthew 5:17-18.
Can the Resurrection become the
Lord’s day?
What is the day of the day of the Lord (YHWH) from
the point of the Torah that went out of Jerusalem
(Isaiah 2:3? The answer is found in Isaiah for
whomever might be able see it, read it, and
understand it.
If you hold your foot back from the Sabbath,
from doing your affairs on my holy day, if you
call the Sabbath a pleasure, the holy day of
Yahweh honorable, if you honor him more than
doing your ways, than finding your affairs and
speaking a word, Isaiah 58:13 LEB
The day of the LORD, of Lord, of YHWH, of ADON, of
ADONAI, of YHWiH, of Jesus, is definitely the
Sabbath day which is Saturday. No one may change
that day under any pretence because Jesus Himself
had declared that
"Do not think that I have come to destroy the
law or the prophets. I have not come to destroy
them but to fulfill them. (18) For truly I say to
you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one
tiny letter or one stroke of a letter will pass
away from the law until all takes place. Matthew
5:17-18 LEB
Thus, we know that nothing can change in the Old
Testament, according to Matthew 5:17-18, not even
the Sabbath day. Therefore, there cannot be another
biblical day of the Lord. Even Jesus would not have
agreed with Sunday as day of Worship since when
Jesus created the world He chose the seventh day
(Genesis 2:1-3) as His own and reiterated that
ownership while He lived in flesh:
And He said to them, The Son of Man is Lord
also of the sabbath. (Luke 6:5 MKJV)
In parenthesis, our blindness makes us creates two
mirages of worlds: one with YHWH known as the
LORD and the other with Jesus as the Lord because
YHWH (the LORD) is nowhere to be found in the
ministry of Jesus!
Mark 7:6-8 ASV
(6) And he said unto them, Well did Isaiah
prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written,
This people honoreth me with their lips, But
their heart is far from me. (7) But in vain do
they worship me, Teaching as their
doctrines the precepts of men. (8) Ye leave
the commandment of God, and hold fast the
tradition of men.
