WHERE CAN WE FIND OUT ALL ABOUT JESUS?
You search the Scriptures, for you think in them you
have everlasting life. And they are the ones witnessing
concerning Me. John 5:39 LITV. Luke 24:44
Jesus predicted
His Passion
Jesus was to be buried for three
days and three nights, as a bet.
The Death of Jesus: when and how long did
He remain buried before he was risen?
The consideration of the timing of the death of Jesus
is important because it was given as a sign to the
skeptics of His time and because it is used as the
foundation for the establishment of Good Friday,
Easter, and the so-called Christian worship day on
Sunday, the resurrection day, which is in contrast to
Saturday which the Torah calls on the alien converts
and believers of today to keep and have a holy
convocation on the Sabbath.
We will go over the concept of a day in the Torah in
its divisions of ‘evening and morning’. The Jews use
two calendars. We will pay close attention to the
timing of the events leading to Jesus’s arrest in the
night, His overnight mock trial, the time He was
taken to various authorities, His condemnation, His
Crucifixion, His death, His burial, the predicted
length of His stay in the heart of the earth, the
resurrection and its timing. We will also look at the
current timing of those events and their application.
Then, we will make the determination whether or
not we are required by Jesus or the Apostles to
celebrate those events.
What is a biblical
day?
The sign that Jesus gave His generation to seal His
rights as YHWH Elohim involves days and nights
(Matthew 12:40). We may not assume that the
audience is familiar with the biblical day established
in the Torah. Even the chosen people chose to follow
in parallel another calendar even though at the
Exodus YHWH Elohim (Jesus) decreed to them a new
calendar.
This month shall be the chief of months for you.
It shall be the first of the months of the year for
you. Exodus 12:2 KJ3.
Observe the month Abib, and perform the
Passover to Jehovah your God. For in the
month of Abib Jehovah your God brought
you out of Egypt by night. (Deuteronomy
16:1 KJ3)
What is a day in accordance with the Torah (the Law)
and the timing of the week of unleavened bread?
The days of the prediction fell during the week of
the unleavened bread.
And God called the light, Day. And He called the
darkness, Night. And it was evening, and it was
morning, day one. (Genesis 1:5 KJ3)
Genesis 1:5 sheds light on Matthew 12:40 which
contains the sign of the Prophet Jonah that
prophesies the death and resurrection of Jesus.
Matthew 12:40 does not call for 24 hour calendar
days, as it specifies ‘3 days and 3 nights’ because a
day is defined as the interval between ‘an evening
and a morning, day one’. In Matthew 12:40, based
on the language of Genesis 1:5, the ‘3 days’ refer to
the ‘light’ portion of the day and the ‘3 nights’ refer
to the ‘darkness’ portion of the day. In essence, for
the sign of Jesus to be exact in accordance to His
prediction, we must look for 3 daylights and 3
darkness between the day of His burial and the day
of His resurrection. Anathema to those who inject
their virus in the arithmetical chronology of the
events of the Passion of Jesus by claiming that it was
customary for the Jews to count part of a day as a
day. That argument does not concern the sign of the
Prophet Jonah which is about ‘ 3 days and 3 nights’,
which is ‘3 daylights and 3 darkness’ from the
perspective of Genesis 1:5.
Based on the foregoing, in researching the timing of
the events of the Passion of Jesus, we are not
looking for our modern Gregorian calendar 3 days in
the narrative of the New Testament. Rather, we are
looking for any ‘3 days and 3 nights’ of the
experience of the Prophet Jonah in the narrative of
the death and resurrection of Jesus. As a starting
point for the research, we look at the current
application of the chronology of the vents of the
Passion.
and the third day be raised up
(Matthew 17:23 ASV) and they shall kill
him, and the third day he shall be raised
up. And they were exceeding sorry.
(Matthew 20:19 ASV) and shall deliver
him unto the Gentiles to mock, and to
scourge, and to crucify: and the third
day he shall be raised up.
(Matthew 27:64 ASV) Command
therefore that the sepulchre be made
sure until the third day, lest haply his
disciples come and steal him away, and
say unto the people, He is risen from the
dead: and the last error will be worse
than the first.
(Luke 9:22 ASV) saying, The Son of man
must suffer many things, and be
rejected of the elders and chief priests

Three days and
three nights
Matthew 12:38-40 ASV Then certain of the
scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying,
Teacher, we would see a sign from thee. (39)
But he answered and said unto them, An evil
and adulterous generation seeketh after a
sign; and there shall no sign be given to it but
the sign of Jonah the prophet: (40) for as
Jonah was three days and three nights in the
belly of the whale; so shall the Son of man be
three days and three nights in the heart of the
earth.
(Matthew 16:21 ASV) From that time began
Jesus to show unto his disciples, that he must
go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of
the elders and chief priests and scribes, and
be killed, and the third day be raised up.
and the third day be raised up
(Matthew 15:32 ASV) And Jesus called unto
him his disciples, and said, I have
compassion on the multitude, because
they continue with me now three days and
have nothing to eat: and I would not send
them away fasting, lest haply they faint on
the way.
(Matthew 26:61 ASV) and said, This man
said, I am able to destroy the temple of
God, and to build it in three days.
(Matthew 27:40 ASV) and saying, Thou that
destroyest the temple, and buildest it in
three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son
of God, come down from the cross.
(Matthew 27:63 ASV) saying, Sir, we
remember that that deceiver said while he
was yet alive, After three days I rise again.
(Mark 8:2 ASV) I have compassion on the
multitude, because they continue with me
now three days, and have nothing to eat:
(Mark 8:31 ASV) And he began to teach
them, that the Son of man must suffer
many things, and be rejected by the elders,
and the chief priests, and the scribes, and
be killed, and after three days rise again.
(Mark 9:31 ASV) For he taught his disciples,
and said unto them, The Son of man is
delivered up into the hands of men, and
they shall kill him; and when he is killed,
after three days he shall rise again.
(Mark 10:34 ASV) and they shall mock him,
and shall spit upon him, and shall scourge
him, and shall kill him; and after three days
he shall rise again.
(Mark 14:58 ASV) We heard him say, I will
destroy this temple that is made with
hands, and in three days I will build
another made without hands.
(Mark 15:29 ASV) And they that passed by
railed on him, wagging their heads, and
saying, Ha! thou that destroyest the
temple, and buildest it in three days,
(Luke 2:46 ASV) And it came to pass, after
three days they found him in the temple,
sitting in the midst of the teachers, both
hearing them, and asking them questions:
(John 2:19 ASV) Jesus answered and said
unto them, Destroy this temple, and in
three days I will raise it up.
(John 2:20 ASV) The Jews therefore said,
Forty and six years was this temple in
building, and wilt thou raise it up in three
days?
From the 14th to the 21st
is 7 days (not 8 days)
according to Exodus
12:18-19 fell the 3 days
and 3 nights
(18) In the first month, on the
fourteenth day of the month at even, ye
shall eat unleavened bread, until the
one and twentieth day of the month at

whosoever eateth that which is
leavened, that soul shall be cut off from
the congregation of Israel, whether he
be a sojourner, or one that is born in
the land. Exodus 12:18-19 ASV
